Am I cheating? Am I a cheater? Is this okay mommy?

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLCOME BACK TO THIS THING AGAIN!!! (yay)

Aren't you excited? AREN'T. YOU. EXCITED?! Good, cause you'll need to sit down for this one folks. It's gonna go from suck to blow!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to yet another exciting day of uncrating! As some of you may know, i've been a "little" off schedule lately. The only person I have to blame really is myself, and I ain't afraid to admit it. But enough about that. Today's post is going to be special, since I skipped a week i'm going to unbox TWO CRATES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE BLOG POST!!!

Now I have something to confess here, and some of you may be a tad disappointed. Now you see, I'm doing this blog thing right? (By the way Blogger, just an FYI, but blog is a word. Stop with the fricken red line of death) And this blog thing is about me unboxing a crate once a week right? Well...I've been...uncrating out of my spare free time. Yes, I know, it is kinda dishonoring the whole thing, but mind you, whenever I unbox for the blog, i'm unboxing just one crate. One. Crate. One day of the week (Well, almost anyway, these things take time you know.) And I test my luck to see if, just IF one crate can lead me to glory, and i'm not allowed to stop doing the blog until I get an unusual for the blog.
SPEAKING OF UNUSUALS OHOHO I GOT A TREAT FOR YOU!!
I didn't get one for the blog...
But just out of irony. when I wasn't doing the blog I got this. I don't own it anymore, but I gave it to a nice smashing gent. who I knew was worthy of such a hat. That and I feel like it wouldn't be doing justice for the blog, so for now, we're still trekking through our spiritual adventure of 9 dudes in the early 1970's killing each other and unboxing their crates in the middle of a desert in New Mexico...
Oh yeah, and uh Valve, when's that Halloween update? Eh? Eh? But Digress...
At this point it's just Pyro under the bridge...

SO, You must be wondering what our double feature is tonight? Well, it's gonna be a glorious one folks! I gotta good feeling from these two crates, because I know one of 'em is gonna give me an Anti-Freeze Team Captain!
But wait...Soviet if you're mentioning that effect then you must mean...oh god no, NO!!
"AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWW NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOVIET, WHY'D JA DO IT?!?!" Well admittedly, out of all the crates I have received from you guys thus far, this is the only robo crate I got. And you know what? Good. Because I don't intend to unbox this sucker ever again. Might as well knock this one out...
Unboxing in 5...4...3...2...1...
(yes I know this isn't mine)
My new item is...
Eeeeeeeeeeh.... (Btw in case you're wondering about the top part, I actually didn't save a picture for when I unboxed this. Lucky someone uploaded themselves unboxing this...this...hunk of scrap...yeah I don't know either)
AND FOR MY NEXT UNBOX
It's a...it a...
An air filter...thingy? Sure, why not. (This is actually kinda cool.)

(Pics by my main man Blue Star http://steamcommunity.com/id/OfficialBlueStar And just a fair warning, is profile pic is a butt at the moment, but he does some pretty amazing gmod stuff.)

Welp, that's all for today folks, happy uncrating and i'll see you all next time.

"Ugh..."

CAN YOU FEEL THE SPOOKINESS APPROACHING?!?!

I know I can. As you all may know, Valve likes to release a spooky scary update for us every October. This usually includes an assortment of new Halloween related goodies, a reskined map or two, and a spooky boss to give us a spooky hat!
Sadly that hasn't happened yet, so for all you workshop contributors, there's still time! Speaking of contributing, I've always wanted to contribute to tf2, in, well, about every way. Maps, cosmetics, weapons, even taunts. Infact, this year I was thinking about how crazy it'd be to have unusual Halloween taunt effects! But alas, I'm not a pro designer, animator, or level editor, but it's still something I wish to put my efforts towards someday.
"Light your fire to glory" a man once said never.
Now another thing I like to talk about for a bit is the "value" of the in game items of TF2. Recently, I joined a trade server (Based off of Zelda Majora's Masks Clock Town) where I met some people who were talking about in-game pricing and in-game markets. One of 'em mentioned that in the game World of Warcraft (something I never thought i'd be talking about in my life) the prices of items and their value was actually made by the game creators, not the community, therefore meaning that the game intentionally implanted a trade system on how some items are worth currency within the game (In this case, many people see metal, keys, bills, and buds as currency)
But then he mentioned on how Valve originally wanted to have the players have there own values set to items, in the sense, that, this Otolaryngologist Mirror
(Which by the way Blogger, Otolaryngologist is an actual word, don't bombard me with the red text of death) Doesn't actually have a price value to it, you could potentially sell this for a Soda Popper or a Bill's Hat, but since the community decided to give an actual price, it sorta takes away the personal value of the item. In fact, nowadays Valve has been making the community's price market more and more "official" with the inclusion of being able to sell stranges, more and more strange cosmetics, and the "Limited" craft value items that can now be sold on the market (These items include Ebenezer's, Bills, buds and the new cosmetics)  Just, everything is now a stock market, but we really can't complain. TF2 is STILL TF2. Which is something a lot of people forget. But hey, it is what it is.

SO NOW THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR TWO. WHOLE. WEEKS. WHAT DID I GET?!?!
Let's see...
CRATE #84
This...this...this thing...
That's right, one of the killstreak crates, and there's no reason for me to name the price of all the killstreak weapons, simply because they don't have one.
  • Stickybomb Launcher kit
  • Minigun Kit
  • Direct Hit Kit
  • Huntsman Kit
  • Backburner Kit
  • Back Scatter Kit
  • Kritzkrieg Kit
  • Ambassador Kit
  • Frontier Justice Kit
Now if i'm correct, you CAN get Specialized and Professional Killstreaks from these things, so let's hope I can at least get something worth putting onto a strange weapon...

Unboxing you're sexy new stuff in very low quality in
5...4...3...2...1...
My new item is...
A...regular...killstreak Back Scatter...which I can't even put a strange on yet...
Guess that's life huh? Ugh...I'll be seeing you all again soon and I'm sorry for such a long delay, you're in for a treat these next couple of days. Take care everybody, and happy uncrating!

Weekly challenge #2 Valve shoves "Strangifiers" down our throats

Welcome one and all to another day of uncrating!

Ah yes, can you feel it?
October is just around the corner folks, and that means spooky scary hats and miscs. that we can wear for a WHOLE ENTIRE MONTH!!

However, something that has caught the eye of the tf2 community is a new crate that has came out called the "Limited Late Summer Crate Series #86" Which is interesting because:
1. This crate came out about a week before the yearly Halloween update and
2. This crate enables you to unbox Strange Cosmetics
That's right, no "Strangifiers" you can just unbox them with the chance of one of them being strange. Remember the Bread Boxes, and how there was a small chance of getting a strange bread weapon? It's essentially the same thing, but what really baffles me is the inclusion of Strange cosmetics in the first place. That and Collector's items. Why do they exist? I dunno, but because of these new items you start to get really long and ridiculous names on items :

Just rolls right off your tongue.
But that's not necessarily what I want to talk about today.

We've been waiting for the event all week haven't we folks? I know I was, (I sorta forgot about it for awhile due to social life and just general i've been playing tf2 a tad less lately)

LET'S GET OUR UNBOXING SPIRIT ON!!!

Today's crate is...
#85 of the Munition Series

Now I know I said last time I had nothing but killstreak crates, (Which are Series 83 & 84) but the other Munition crates had some interesting items in it, particularly the Strangifiers as I mentioned earlier. #82 was a stinker when it came to the Strangifiers (I mean it was cool finally getting a Strange Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol, but the Cleaner's Carbine? That weapon seriously needs a change in stats.) But #85 introduced Strangifiers to some of the new Love &War weapons, as well as two new strange parts, and two new cosmetic Strangifiers.

Crate #85's contents:

  • Air Strike Strangifier: 3.55
  • Classic Strangifier: 4.11
  • Manmelter Strangifier: 1.55
  • Vaccinator Strangifier: 6.00
  • Strange Part: Robot Scouts Destroyed: 0.66
  • Strange Part: Taunting Players Killed: 1.00
  • Strange Part: Buildings Destroyed: 4.00
  • Anger Strangifier: ~3 keys
  • Appariton's Aspect Strangifier: ~1 key
  • Widowmaker Strangifier: Oddly enough, I couldn't find a price for this one, but i'll just go by it's new Strange price 7.00-1 key
Hawt Daem! This is one hell of a crate. Now it's certainly not the best crate, but introduced some neat new stranges, and the cosmetic Strangifiers are actually cool and worth something. However, it's interesting to note, that, the Widowmaker can be obtainable via Salvage Crate #40, which is quite frankly the worst salvage crate you can uncrate, and now it's even worst.
 Let's open that sucker up!

Uncrating your loot in 5,4,3,2,1...

My new items is...

This thing.
This really wasn't what I was expecting to be honest, and simply put I don't have a Classic. (REALLY wanted that Anger Strangifier!) Since this isn't something i'm too thrilled about, I'll be raffling this off on the Raffle group, so stay tuned for that. As I said before, this isn't anything i'm too thrilled about, but at least I didn't get the Robot Scouts Destroyed part.

Eh, whatever. Until next time, happy uncrating!

                                                                                                                                                           -TSG

Welcome one and all to the one Crate a Week Challenge.

Unusuals, the most treasured and prized items in Team Fortress 2. It's not an understatement to say that they're the best, and if not the coolest hats in TF2.

However they're a pain in the ass to get.
And if not one of the most difficult items to get in the game.

So exactly what is the "One Crate a Week Challenge" You say?
Well for starters, I just want to point this out. This is not my original idea. However, i'm not exactly sure who came up with this idea originally. (And I would appreciate it if any of you could tell me.)
It's pretty self explanatory; Every week I unbox one randomly selected crate from one friend/user.
If I get an unusual, then the challenge is over. If I don't get an unusual, then i'll either A: Raf. off whatever I unbox or B: Keep and or use it to buy more keys. Exactly how raffles will work is beyond me, but i'll update on how things will work out here as time goes by.

Each week I'll talk about what crate i'm unboxing and the prices of each item with in it. I'll leave a picture as to showing what I got from the crate, as well as how I feel about the item and whether or not I'll raf. it off.

But without any further hesitations, let's get this party started.

DAY ONE:
If you're reading this, then you're probably already and average Team Fortress 2 player. Seriously, if you're reading this and have a good 16 hours under your belt, you might want to get more familiar with the TF2 community.

Aside from that, deciding on which crate to open first was a toughy, as the majority of the crates I own right now just have killstreak kits in them, however I do have one crate in particular that doesn't have kits. That crate just so happens to be crate #76 which includes the following:
CRATE #76

  • The Concheror: 0.33
  • Revolver: 0.33
  • Eviction Notice: 0.21
  • Strange Part: Killstreaks Ended: 0.66
  • Strange Cosmetic Part: Freeze Cam Taunt Appearances: 1-1.44
  • Strange Part: Damage Dealt: 3-4 keys
  • Front Runner: 1.33-1.66
  • Cold Killer: 1.65
Ouch. Not the greatest crate to start off with, but that Damage Dealt is extremely tempting.
LET ME HEAR YOUR UNCRATING BATTLE CRY!!!

Uncrating your loot in 5,4,3,2,1...
*Creeking noise

My new item is...

Now hey! Thats actually not that bad. I'll admit it, I was crossing my fingers for the Damage Dealt part, but seeing as the first crate gave me my first hat of the challenge, I don't really mind it. I'll keep this one until further notice.
*Note: I'll only show loadouts for new cosmetic items that I obtain.

Now I know this first day probably wasn't as crazy as the future ones will be, and especially with the new crates and October around the corner. But trust me, these posts will be a lot more entertaining and have plenty of aggravation in them. You can bet on that last part, I can already see myself getting Strange Jarate...

Until next week, I'll do another uncrating from another random crate. Hopefully the new crates will have came out (And hopefully new weapons too) Have a nice rest of the week folks, and happy uncrating.
